You will find the answers to many frequently asked questions below. If you cannot find an answer to your question, please contact me.
Where do you ship prints to?
Fine Art Prints can be ordered directly from the website for shipping to anywhere in the world. Currently I only ship Canvas Prints to the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and the Isle of Man.
Can I return my print?
In the unlikely event a print should reach you in damaged condition please contact me immediately and I will make every effort to rectify the damage as quickly as possible at no extra cost to you. Damage must be reported within 24 hours of receipt.
I print all my Fine Art Prints myself and take pride in the quality of them. I am sure you will be pleased with your prints but if for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase you may return it in its original packaging within 7 days, at your expense, for a full refund of the purchase price.
Regrettably, because Canvas Prints are a special-order item and custom made by my print partner, I am unable to accept returns should you change your mind.
Please contact me first before returning any print.
Can I scan or copy a print I have bought from you and use it for other things?
No. Copying of a print in any way is a breach of my copyright and strictly not permitted. If you wish to use my image for another purpose you will need to purchase a license.
Can I License an Image from You?
Yes you can. I offer rights managed license options for all my images. Please contact me with details of your project or intended use for a quotation.
What is Rights-Managed Licensing?
If you wish to use an image on your website, blog, or you wish to use an image in the course of your business etc. you must purchase a license. Rights-Managed Licensing is time limited licensing at a price determined by use. For example, it can specify:
the size of the image,
the number of printed copies,
the country or location the image is published,
the industry sector,
With Rights-Managed Licensing you only pay for the usage you actually need and do not pay for usage you do not.
Rights-Managed Licensing also allows you to purchase an exclusive license which prevents your competition from also using the same image.
Can I buy a Royalty Free license for an image?
No. My images are only licensable as Rights Managed. Many of my clients require exclusivity for the duration of their license and I would not be able to offer this if I were to grant Royalty Free licenses. However, I might be able to tailor a Rights Managed license to meet your requirements. Please contact me if you would like to discuss.
Can I re-sell an image I have licensed and downloaded from you?
No. The re-sale or re-license of my images is strictly prohibited.
Can I sell a product made from an image of yours?
Maybe. If you purchase an appropriate license from me, then yes. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
I am an artist. Can I use your images to copy for my own painting / artwork?
Provided you purchase a suitable license to use my images in this way then yes. Making copies of my images, in any form, without a license is not permitted.
General Image Questions
Can I use your images for free?
No. You must buy a license to use any of my images.
Can I use your images on my personal blog or social media for free?
No, you must purchase a license from me, even for personal blogs etc.
You are welcome to share a link to pages on my website using the sharing options provided but please do not hotlink my images in your blogs or any other website.
But aren’t all images on the internet in the Public Domain and free to use?
No. This is a common misconception as is the idea that all images listed in a search engine are free to use. ALL images, photographs, literature and other forms of artwork, are subject to copyright the moment they are created. Publication on the internet only makes them available for public viewing. It does not put them in the Public Domain for free re-use.
How do you track how your images are used?
I use a variety of tools to track how and where my images are used. These include Internet search engines and commercial image rights organisations who specialise in the tracing of unauthorised image use. My images are also watermarked, both visibly and invisibly. Removal of any watermarking or embedded metadata is a violation of the Copyright, Design and Patents Act 1988 and international copyright laws.
What types of payment do you accept?
Payment at the checkout can be made on-line using most major credit or debit cards through the secure Stripe payments system, or securely from a PayPal account.
What is VAT?
VAT, or Value Added Tax, is a sales tax charged by the UK government on sales to individuals and businesses based within the UK. VAT does not apply to sales to individuals or businesses outside of the UK. VAT will be charged on all purchases from individuals and businesses based within the UK at the current rate applicable.
Do your prices include VAT?
Prices on my price calculator will automatically include VAT if it is determined you are located in the UK. If VAT is included, it will be indicated beside the price. Once you have confirmed your address during the checkout process VAT will automatically added if appropriate.
