I have been photographing a few walks for Exmoor Magazine recently. It’s a simple enough brief. Follow the provided walk and photograph it, a year before planned publication so that the images will match the season when the route is published.
The current spring edition contains the walk I did around the Quantock Hills from Nether Stowey last spring. The UK national lockdown due to the pandemic delayed my trip, but fortunately lockdown measures eased in May and I was able to complete the walk before the end of spring.
This was my first post lockdown trip out which made it particularly exhilarating. My photographic journey started with a frosty sunrise at Stowey Castle and took me through the woods up to Dowsborough Camp Iron Age hill fort, down to Dead Woman’s Ditch and then through more woodland arriving back in Nether Stowey via Over Stowey.
