My favourite pier. Elegant and unfussy, it stretches out into the calm quiet water of the Severn Estuary towards Wales.

Built by the Victorians in the 19th century and originally used as a jetty for paddle steamer trips around the Bristol Channel. It suffered a major collapse in 1970 and narrowly escaped demolition. It lay derelict for many years until undergoing extensive restoration in the 1980’s.
